Mid-term Examination (20% of course grade)
Our mid-term examination will cover issues and concepts from the first half of the semester. I’ll offer you ~3-4 essay prompts, and you can choose 2 to answer in the time assigned for our exam. The exam will be given in class (about 75 minutes) and you will be able to use your notes and assigned readings when taking it. In other words, the exam will be “open book.” I am less interested in what you memorize, and more interested in how you engage with our key concepts and questions, draw connections between our readings, and think your way to a coherent response.
